Setting a weight goal in FITIV Pulse gives your journey a clear destination. Instead of tracking a number that bounces up and down every day, you get a structured path with milestones, a projected end date, and a trend line that shows your real progress over time.
What Is the Weight Goal Feature?
The Weight Goal feature lets you set a target weight and a weekly pace, and FITIV does the rest. It calculates your projected end date, breaks the journey into milestones, and tracks your progress every time you log a weigh-in. Whether you are looking to lose weight or build mass, the goal system keeps you focused on what actually matters: the trend over time, not the number on any given morning.
ℹ️ Pro tip: FITIV pulls weight data from Apple Health if you have it connected. Your most recent entry will be used as your starting point automatically.
How Do I Set a Weight Goal?
Setting up your goal takes less than two minutes.
- Open FITIV Pulse and go to the Today tab.
- Tap the Weight card.
- Tap Set Goal.
- Enter your target weight.
- Choose how much you want to lose or gain per week. FITIV will highlight the recommended healthy range for your selection.
- Select your preferred trend evaluation method: 7-day low, 7-day average, or current weight.
- Choose whether you want daily or weekly weight reminders to keep you logging consistently.
- Review your goal summary and tap on the green check mark.
✅ Success Tip: Your Weight card will update immediately to show your goal, your first milestone, your trend line, and your projected end date.
Which Trend Evaluation Method Should I Choose?
The trend evaluation method tells FITIV which weight reading to use when calculating your weekly progress. Each option works differently depending on how you prefer to track.
7-day low uses your lowest reading from the past seven days. This works well if your weight fluctuates a lot and you want a more optimistic but still accurate view of your trend.
7-day average uses the average of all readings from the past seven days. This is the most balanced option and the one FITIV recommends for most users. It smooths out daily noise without chasing the lowest number.
Current weight uses your most recent logged reading. This is the most straightforward option but the most sensitive to daily fluctuations.
ℹ️ Pro tip: You can change your trend evaluation method at any time in your goal settings without losing your progress history.
How Does Milestone Tracking Work?
Once your goal is set, FITIV automatically divides the total distance between your starting weight and your target weight into milestones. Your current milestone always appears on the Weight card so you have a near-term target to aim for, not just a distant end goal.
Each time you log a weigh-in and your trend crosses a milestone, FITIV marks it as complete and sets the next one. Progress feels real at every step of the journey, not just at the finish line.
How Do I Edit or Delete My Goal?
You can update your goal at any time without losing your weigh-in history.
- Go to the Today tab and tap the Weight card.
- Tap the Edit option in the top right corner.
- Update your target, pace, or trend method. Tap on the green check mark to save changes.
- Optional: Select Clear Goal to remove it entirely.
ℹ️ Pro tip: Deleting your goal removes the milestone tracking and projected end date but does not delete any of your logged weight entries.
FAQ
What happens if I miss a few days of logging?
Your goal does not reset or penalize you for missed days. FITIV will simply use the next weigh-in you log to update your trend. Consistency matters more than perfection.
My weight went up this week but my trend is still going down. Which one should I trust?
Trust the trend. Daily readings are affected by water retention, food volume, sleep, and other factors that have nothing to do with fat loss or gain. The smoothed trend line is designed to cut through that noise and show your real direction over time.
Can I set a goal if I am also tracking GLP-1 medication?
Yes. Weight Management Goals and GLP-1 Medication Tracking work independently and side by side. Your weekly cycle report card will show how your weight trend is moving in relation to each dose, giving you the full picture in one place.
