FITIV Pulse lets you manage your workout tracking around how you actually train. This guide covers the three workout categories in FITIV Pulse, how to create, edit, and delete workouts in each one, and how to organize your Favourites for quick access.
What Are the Different Workout Categories in FITIV Pulse?
FITIV Pulse works with three kinds of workouts:
- Standard (Default): The workout types built into FITIV Pulse by default, covering the activities most users already track.
- Custom: Workouts you build yourself. Go as simple as a cold plunge or sauna session, or as detailed as interval and Tabata training with time, zone, and distance targets plus rest timers.
- Weight Lifting Templates: Strength training workouts with reps, sets, timers, and supersets mapped out in detail.
Standard Workouts
How Do I Log a Standard Workout?
Standard workouts are ready to use right away; just select one from the default list and tap Start to begin tracking.
If you forgot to track a workout live, you can still log it by adding it manually or importing it from Apple Health, both from the History tab.
To add a workout manually:
- Open the FITIV Pulse app and tap the History tab.
- Tap the + icon in the top right corner.
- Select Manually Add.
- Enter the workout type, duration, distance, calories burned, and any other details you have.
- Tap Save to add it to your history.
If a workout tracked in another app doesn't sync into FITIV Pulse automatically, you can pull it in manually from Apple Health.
To import a workout from Apple Health:
- Open the FITIV Pulse app and tap the History tab.
- Tap the + icon in the top right corner.
- Select Add From Apple Health.
- Browse the workouts synced to Apple Health from other devices or apps.
- Tap the workout you want to import.
| â Success Tip: A checkmark (â) next to the workout confirms it imported successfully into your history. |
How Do I Edit a Standard Workout?
You cannot. However, you can edit the post-workout data of a logged Standard workout, such as its title, duration, distance, or calories, but you can't change the workout type itself once it's logged. If you want a modified version of a Standard workout with its own settings, such as a Zone 2 Running session, create a Custom workout instead.
To edit a logged workout:
- Open the FITIV Pulse app and tap the History tab.
- Tap the workout you want to edit.
- Tap Edit in the top right corner.
How Do I Delete a Standard Workout?
Standard workouts are part of FITIV Pulse's default list and can't be deleted. If there's one you don't use, just leave it out of your Favorites so it stays out of your quick-access list.

âšī¸ Pro tip: You can keep up to 6 workouts in your Favourites at a time, mixing standard, custom, and template workouts however suits your routine. The Workout tab also shows a Recents section, which updates automatically as you track workouts; no manual setup needed. Both your Favourites and Recents sync to the FITIV Pulse app on your Apple Watch. |
Tips for Managing Your Workouts
A Favourites list that matches your routine saves time and keeps quick access focused on what you actually do. Update your 6 Favourites whenever your training focus shifts, swapping out workouts you're not using anymore. If a workout is missing from Apple Health when you go to import it, confirm it synced to Apple Health first, since FITIV Pulse can only import what Apple Health already has.
