Struggling with GPS accuracy during workouts? This guide will help you fix GPS problems and improve location tracking in FITIV Pulse, whether you’re running on city streets or hiking remote trails.
Why is GPS Accuracy Important for Workouts?
Accurate GPS helps track your distance, pace, and route in real time. A weak signal can cause skipped data or inaccurate maps. Luckily, you can fix most issues in just a few steps.
Info Tip: FITIV Pulse only uses your location during workouts. Your privacy is always respected.
1. Does FITIV Pulse Have Permission to Use Location?
Here’s how to check:
On iPhone:
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > FITIV Pulse
➜ Set to While Using the App or AlwaysOn Android:
Go to Settings > Location > App Permissions > FITIV Pulse
➜ Set to Allow only while using the app or Allow all the time
Alert tip: Without proper location permissions, GPS tracking won’t work.
2. Quick Fixes for Common GPS Issues
Try these tips before starting your next workout:
✅ Clear Line of Sight: Start your workout in an open area, away from tall buildings or trees.
✅ Use High Accuracy Mode (Android only): Go to Settings > Location > Mode > High Accuracy
✅ Restart Your Device: Power off your phone, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
✅ Update FITIV and Your Operating System: Outdated versions may have known GPS bugs.
3. How to Get a Strong GPS Lock
To improve your GPS lock before a workout:
Avoid starting workouts indoors.
Wait 10–20 seconds outdoors before hitting start to let the signal stabilize.
Keep your battery charged:
Low power can affect GPS performance.Note the weather:
Heavy cloud cover or storms can weaken signal strength.
Info Tip: Start your workout a few steps away from your house or car for better signal lock.
