Before we start, let's understand why tracking your heart rate is so useful. It's not just a tech gadget; it's a tool that helps you see how well you're working out. By tracking your heart rate, our app gives you important information that helps you improve your fitness. The best part? It's easy and only takes a few steps.
Alert Tip: To install the FITIV App on your Watch, make sure the Model of your Apple Watch is Series 3 or newer and updated to watchOS 8.0 or higher.
Installing FITIV Pulse on Your Apple Watch
Let's kick things off with installing the app on your Apple Watch. It's a piece of cake, really. Just follow these steps:
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone
- Tap on the My Watch tab.
- Find the FITIV Pulse app under the Available App section.
- Tap on INSTALL.
Success Tip: You can double-check that you have successfully installed the FITIV Pulse App on your Apple Watch and that it is paired to your iPhone from within the iPhone app.
On the FITIV Pulse App:
- Open the FITIV Pulse App
- Go to the Profile tab and tap the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Tap on the Apple Watch option.
- On this view, you should see the message “App Installed”.
Connecting Your Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor
To ensure a stable connection, please follow these steps carefully. Bluetooth heart rate monitors must be paired directly through FITIV Pulse and should not be connected to other apps or devices at the same time.
Coach Tip: Before you begin
- Make sure your heart rate monitor is fully charged and turned on.
- If the sensor was previously paired to another app or device, please unpair or disconnect it there first.
Step by step connection guide

Unpair from other devices
- Unpair the Bluetooth heart rate monitor from any other apps or devices it may be connected to.
- Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings and remove (forget) the sensor if it appears there.

Open FITIV Pulse
- Launch the FITIV Pulse app on your smartphone or iPad.

Go to the Workouts tab
- Tap on the Workouts tab at the bottom of the app.
- Locate the Tracking Device / Device Manager section.

Discover and manage sensors
- Tap Discover Devices (or Discover and Manage Sensors, depending on your app version).
- Put your heart rate monitor into pairing mode.
- Select your Bluetooth heart rate monitor when it appears in the list.

Set as main device
- Once paired, select the sensor as your main tracking device.

Start a workout
- Start a workout to confirm that heart rate data is being received correctly.
Important notes
- Do not pair the heart rate monitor through the phone’s Bluetooth settings for regular use.
- The sensor must be connected only to FITIV Pulse during workouts.
- If heart rate data does not appear, repeat the steps above to ensure a clean pairing.
