Custom Workouts let you track activities that go beyond FITIV Pulse's default list, built and tuned exactly the way you train. This guide covers what a Custom Workout is, why it's worth setting one up, and how to create, edit, and delete them.
What Is a Custom Workout?
A Custom Workout is a workout type you build yourself in FITIV Pulse using the Workout Builder. It's one of three workout categories in the app, alongside Standard workouts and Weight Lifting Templates.
Custom Workouts can be as simple as a cold plunge or sauna session, or as detailed as interval and tabata training with time, zone, and distance targets plus rest timers.
Why Use a Custom Workout?
FITIV Pulse's default list covers most common activities, but not every routine fits neatly into a standard type. A Custom Workout lets you name and configure a workout exactly the way you train it, down to the icon, coaching, and interval structure, so your history reflects what you actually did.
Custom Workouts are also useful for tuning a variation of a Standard workout. For example, if you want a dedicated Zone 2 Running session with its own settings, building it as a Custom Workout keeps it separate from your regular running entries.

To edit a custom workout:
- Open the FITIV Pulse app and tap the Workout tab.
